Delpha Lucille (Carson) Bradley

It is with loving sadness that the family of Delpha Lucille (Carson) Bradley announce her peaceful passing on May 20, 2016.

Delpha “Dee” was born September 9, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas to Russell and Nellie Carson. She moved to Tulsa and then to Sapulpa where she graduated one year early from high school in 1953 after completing correspondence classes from Oklahoma University.

She continued her education, graduating in 1956 from Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas, where her mother had also attended. She loved nursing, especially neonatal care where she spent most of her career. She later completed her Neonatal Nursing Practitioner certification with NAACOG in 1985. Delpha chose to finish her career at Bartlett Hospital in Sapulpa where her skills were greatly needed.

In Sapulpa at the age of 14, she met the love of her life, Clifford Ray Bradley, her paperboy. They were married in 1955 and were very much in love for 65 years. They raised their family and went on many adventures, both yearly family vacations and exploring together. In her later years, summers were spent at family gatherings north of Ely, Minnesota at the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and then in Grand Marais, on the shores of Lake Superior.

Through the years she made friends that became like family and was beloved by many. She maintained correspondence with an astounding number of friends, relatives, and acquaintances throughout her lifetime. She knew no strangers and her strong Christian faith was seen in her kindness for all.

Delpha had a fierce love for all things family. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and foster children Gayla and Allen, encouraging them in any way she could.

Delpha is survived by her husband Cliff, her children Lynne, Jan and Tom Taggart, Bruce and Lisa Bradley, Nicole and Bobby Harjo, her grandchildren Jon, Bradley, Angela, Harper and Kassidy, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Emily and Kevin Genske, Ashley, Tuesdey, Tasha, Tianna, Logan, and Landon, and her great-grandchildren Trevor, Ethan, Brendan, and Isaac.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you give to the charity of your choice. A private family celebration will be held. Please share condolences and memories at www.greencountrycremation.com/delpha-lucille-bradley.
