Talk about a tale of two halves.
On Tuesday, June 21, visiting Deer River managed to put two runs on the scoreboard in each of the first three innings. Going into the fourth the Warriors led six nothing.
Neither team scored in the fourth, but Cook County scored three in the fifth and four in the sixth to go up seven to six with one inning to play. It seemed like momentum was on the Vikings side, but Deer River batters pounded the ball hard on the seven and scored seven runs while the Vikings offense went dormant, and the Vikings lost 13-7
In the Vikings big sixth inning the team got big hits from Racye Gibson, Jacob Carpenter and Hunter Gomez.
Benelli Myers started the game on the mound. Beneeli pitched four and two third innings, striking out five while allowing seven runs and five hits.
