To paraphrase Jerry Hiniker, (December 24, 2011) “Debt is not an impediment, but is a way to economic recovery.”
If debt leads to economic growth, why are we in such hard times now? The national debt has certainly been increasing. Most of us are in debt and trying hard to get out of debt. Does it really help us if the government goes deeper in debt to get us out of debt and then we have to go back in debt to help pay the government’s debt?
It makes me think of George Orwell’s doublespeak!
Minnesota’s Governor Stassen believed that the most sensible solution to any problem was halfway between the two extremes of proposed solutions. I think that is still the answer for us today, but everyone has forgotten how to compromise.
