David Ray Brown, 75, of Wrenshall passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Viewcrest Nursing Home in Duluth. David was born on March 19, 1948, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Horace and Betty Mae Brown. He was raised and attended school in Superior, graduating in 1966. David joined the Marine Corps after high school, serving his country for six years. He married Nadine in Two Harbors on February 15, 1974. In 1986 he joined the reserves for another year.
David worked on the railroad; Superior, International Falls, Minneapolis and Kansas City being some of the locations, until an injury in 1986. Health issues resulting from Agent Orange exposure resulting in many health problems. But the love of God and family he enjoyed life the best he could. Several groups he enjoyed belonging to were the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a Baptist that enjoyed participating in the Youth for Christ Choir. His hobbies included fishing, playing golf, and playing baseball.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Betty Brown; and brother, Ron Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Brown; children, Grant (Emily) Brown and Tracy Rogers (David Waddle); grandchildren, Ozymandiaz Brown, Octavious Brown, Osiris Brown, Clinton Miller, Kyle Rogers, and Ashley (Zachery) Schmidt; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. A luncheon will follow the service.
