David Eckel awarded Le Grand Du Nord medal for “toughest overall.”

 

David Eckel was competing in the recently held Le Grand Du Nord 54-mile gravel grinding race a week ago when he ran into some physical trouble. Rather than drop from the race he stopped and took a long rest and then finished in an unfamiliar spot, last place. But, as one of his fellow competitors said, David finished when most people would have dropped out.

For his display of grit and endurance through pain, David was awarded the Le Grand Du Nord “Toughest Overall” medal.
