Daniel Linn Hanford, 60, of Grand Marais, passed away Feb. 22, 2013.
He was born to the late Edwin and Mildred Hanford, on April 25, 1952, in Valparaiso, Ind. Dan married Caroline Hamel in 1975 and they lived in Jasper and Newton counties in Indiana until 1990, when they relocated to Laurium, Mich., moving to their final place of residence, Grand Marais, in 2000.
While he enjoyed many jobs over the years, the accomplishments he was most proud of were the many years he spent as an elder in the various congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses that he had been associated with, his many years as a full-time minister of Jehovah’s Word and his two beloved sons.
Dan is survived by his wife; two children, Toby of Madison, Wis. and Cody of Wausau, Wis.; and five brothers, Robert of Alabama, David, Jon, Larry and Don, all of Indiana. He is also survived by his constant loving companion during his brief illness, Pepper the cat.
In respect of Dan’s wishes no memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York.
