The Cook County Curling Club kicked off the 2016-2017 season last weekend with its 6th Annual Halloween Open Bonspiel. The season is expected to run for five months with league games every week. The Curling Club meets at the community center on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m.

Secretary Joanne Smith says all are invited to join. The cost is $140 for new members and $215 for returning members.

Along with the weekly curling league there will be two curling tournaments. The 2 Person Champagne Spiel from January 7 to 8 and the Charles J. Futterer Memorial Open Bonspiel from March 10 through 12.
