Creative Community Club continues

Good things take time and that may be the case with the newly formed Creative Community Club, established in January 2011 by Jill Terrill of Grand Marais. The purpose of the club is simply to offer an informal creative outlet for anyone who wants to take part.

Terrill, owner of The Garage and Threads in downtown Grand Marais, and some creative friends came up with the idea of introducing a monthly theme and inviting community members to use the word in whatever creative way they would like.

The January word was reflection and Terrill said she received some interesting literary work. Because response was a bit low and January was hectic, Terrill said the “reveal”—a gathering of participants to show their creative creations—was postponed. The January reveal will be combined with the February event, which will be held at The Garage on Friday, February 25 at a time to be determined.

The February word is Juxtaposition.

If you would like to join the Creative Community Club and create something using the word of the month, feel free! There are no membership dues and no obligation. If you would like to be added to the e-mail list to learn more about the club, simply clip the coupon below and drop it off at The Garage or Threads or contact Terrill at (218) 387-2691 or by e-mail at uncommon@boreal.org.

Reflection

By Marcy Podas
Granddaughter Mary
She is dawn
I am twilight
She is blond
I am brunette
She is listening
I am talking
She is spring
I am fall
She is four
I am sixty
She is morning
I am night
She lives in New York
I live in a tiny town
She has a fiancé
I am a widow
She is talking
I am listening
She is twenty-five
I am 89.
