Create a fair and balanced economic system

U.S. Postal Service shipping may be simple, but our U.S. economy is complicated. Yet there are some simple principles that we have always embraced when planning our economic system. Whether it be taxation, infrastructure investment, human safety net, or financial system regulations, we like our systems to be fair, balanced and compassionate.

“Trickle down” economics, no tax increase pledges, and policies that seek to leave all in the hands of the private sector do not meet those standards. Instead, such policies or positions have led us to unprecedented concentration of wealth in a few, a massive recession, huge deficits, and near failure of our financial system.

Now is not the time to roll back the clock to the policies that got us in trouble in the first place, only to have us slide back into the types of crises we faced at the end of the Bush years. The economy is recovering. Now is the time to vote for candidates dedicated to preserving and creating a fair and balanced economic system that serves all. That’s not complicated.
