As of February 3, there was a report of 43 new COVID-19 cases in Cook County over the previous seven days. That brought the cumulative cases to 737 since the start of the pandemic.
Statewide, COVID- 19 cases are reported weekly by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Because Cook County includes over-the-counter antigen tests which are not reported to the MDH, the county total and MDH total is different.
On February 7 the state of Minnesota confirmed there had been 1,364,884 cases of covid since the pandemic began, with 11,634 Minnesota deaths attributed to the coronavirus.
In Cook County two deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
Some 4,356 county residents have been fully vaccinated but being vaccinated doesn’t mean you can’t get the coronavirus. Vaccinations help you from getting seriously ill and may keep you from being hospitalized.
