On February 1, officials from the Cook County Emergency Operations Center and Public Health announced that county residents age 70 or older would receive the COVID- 19 vaccine beginning this week, at the Cook County Community Center.
“As a part of our phased approach to community vaccination, we are excited to begin offering vaccine to county residents age 70 or older,” said Co-Incident Commander and Public Health Supervisor Grace Grinager.
On February 3, the county expanded the age to 65 and older.
Vaccine events were held at the Cook County Community Center on Wednesday, February 3 and Thursday, February 4.
“While we certainly won’t be able to serve everyone 65+ with this week’s events, it is exciting to be able to expand the range of people eligible for vaccination,” said Co-Incident Commander and Public Health Supervisor Grace Grinager, “If you don’t get into this week’s clinic, please put your name on the waitlist or look to next week’s sign-up for additional opportunities.”
Vaccine events will be held at the Cook County Community Center.
