Cook County Schools/ISD 166 Counselor Kris Hoffman is considering a new haircut for the summer season—and he is letting Sawtooth Mountain Elementary School students determine what his new look will be. Hoffman is putting his head on the line in a Food Drive from now until May 27.
If Sawtooth Elementary School can collect 500 canned and non-perishable items for the Cook County Food Shelf, Hoffman will shave his head on stage at the Wednesday, June 1 talent show at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.
If Sawtooth Elementary meets the 500-item goal, the class that brings in the most food items gets to do the honors. They get to decide if Hoffman should sport a Mohawk, have zebra stripes, have half his head shaved or be completely bald!
The class that collects the most for the Food Shelf will also win a party, courtesy of Hoffman and his advisory council.
Donations can be sent to school with students or dropped off with Hoffman at ISD 166. Items to donate should be boxed or canned food; no bags that can be punctured or food that can spoil.
Hoffman said, “Please help spread the word, I’d love to get these kids a great going-away present for the summer!”
