CORRECTIONS:

» In the January 2, 2010 article Township citizens sought for election
it was incorrectly stated that Tofte town clerks received a stipend of $75 per meeting. The Tofte clerk does not receive a meeting per diem, but instead receives $20 per hour for attending and for work outside the meeting. The News-Herald
apologizes for the error.

» A January 2 Cook County News-Herald
article entitled School board anticipating referendum
states that ISD 166 would be $444,485 short of what it needed in FY2011 (the 2010/11 school year) to meet its goal of having $1,180,000 in its unreserved/undesignated fund balance. Superintendent Beth Schwarz has indicated that the school will need to come up with $444,485 to keep its fund balance where it is now, but it would need to come up with $675,000 to bring the fund balance up to $1,180,000. To meet its budget, the district is considering program or personnel cuts. Only $25,000 in further budget reductions will be needed in the 2011-12 school year, however. The News-Herald
regrets the error.
