Cook County News Herald

Corrections:

. In the July 18 article New hires, new vehicles for Sheriff’s Office, it was reported that the county board approved hiring a public safety technology specialist and the parttime dispatcher. The county board actually approved the job classification for the public safety technology specialist. Sheriff Pat Eliasen will be asking the board to authorize both positions at the July 28 commissioners’ meeting. The News- Herald apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.

. In the special supplement to the Cook County News-Herald on the 86th Annual Fisherman’s Picnic, we inadvertently omitted one of the most important Grand Marais fireworks volunteers in the Behind the fireworks magic story. For years Charlie Tice has diligently sorted and organized the fireworks leading up to the show. The News-Herald apologizes for the error.

. The headline on the July 25 article about the West End Flower Show was incorrect. The West End Garden Club is celebrating its 80th year. Flower shows have only been taking place since sometime in the 1940s. Also, Kate Griffith was not the author of the small article accompanying the flower show photos. The News-Herald apologizes for the error.
