The proposed PolyMet project is in the Lake Superior watershed and the proposed Twin Metals project is in the BWCAW watershed. The News-Herald apologizes for the error.

The December 28, 2013 article entitled Hospital board finalizes levy amidst concerns from constituents stated that Lloyd Speck said he would like to see the legislature authorize another 1 percent hospital sales tax. He called the News-Herald to say that he was actually saying that he would like to see the legislature change the wording of the current Cook County 1% recreation and infrastructure sales tax to include the hospital. The News-Herald apologizes for the error.
