In the county board story last week it was incorrectly stated that Cook County Commissioner Myron Bursheim voted with Commissioner Heidi Doo-Kirk and Jan Sivertson to set the 2018 preliminary levy at 19.9 percent. Voting with Sivertson and Doo-Kirk was Commissioner Ginny Storlie. Commissioners Bobby Deschampe and Bursheim voted against the proposal. Commissioners have until the end of December to set the final levy, but it can’t be higher than 19.9 percent. If the 19.9 percent levy increase goes into effect, the levy will be $9,428,872 next year.
