On February 25 on a beautiful sunny, warm day in Apache Junction, Arizona at the El Dorado Park Clubhouse, a happy group of 58 past and present North Shore residents had a great time at the “Cook County Picnic.”
Attendees included several young folks who were visiting their parents and other visitors from around the country. There was a mini-reunion of former Cook County courthouse employees—Karen Brickman of Coolidge, Arizona and Grand Marais; Elaine Rabold of Grand Marais; Carol Gresczyk Ouellette of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and Loretta Bloomquist of Devil’s Lake, North Dakota.
The courthouse “gang” and all the others with Cook County connections had a great time catching up with each other.
The gathering of course included tables laden with delicious food. What Cook County gathering doesn’t have that?
Picnic organizer Jean Malner was ably assisted by Chuck and Ruth Tice, Bonnie Featherstone, Jim King, Dwight and Sheryl Smith, Steve and Carol Quaife, with Dick and Bobbie Bockovich at the registration table.
Organizers say if you happen to be in Apache Junction over the last weekend of February next year, check out the Cook County Picnic. You’ll be glad you did.
