A recent column in the paper quoted Frank Herbert, a well-known fiction writer. “The people I distrust most are those who want to improve our lives but only have one course of action.”
The electoral process is an interesting one. It is an opportunity for the public to let its opinions be turned into action be it on the national or local level. The public understands this quote and the “sense” of the community is reflected in recent elections.
Cook County is worthy of more than a two cents investment. A two cents investment in the county over 10 years is not much of a commitment to sustaining what we have.
