Team Hannah T-shirts could be spotted everywhere last Saturday night.
More than 500 people attended a benefit for Hannah Irvin and her family on Saturday, September 27 at the Hovland Town Hall.
“We served 360 turkey suppers,” said Lisa Larson, who was one of the volunteers who coordinated the effort to raise money for the Irvin family. Hannah has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. She and her husband Jason have a 4-year-old daughter and twins who are 8 months old.
“It was tremendous to see the outpouring of support for this lovely young family,” said Larson, who thanked all of the volunteers, musicians, and people who donated gifts for a raffle to make this effort so successful.
“Not all of the money is in yet, but so far we have raised $25,000,” said Larson, who also thanked the public for coming out and showing their love and support for the Irvins.
Among the biggest donations was $1,000 from Thrivent Financial and a refurbished van donated by Bruce and Sue Kerfoot of Gunflint Lodge.
Maybe the biggest gift of all though was the tremendous outpouring of well wishers and people standing in prayer for the Irvins, a hardworking couple who are strong Christians and great all-around people.
