Cook County students named to chancellor’s list at UW-Stout




Several Cook County students are recipients of the chancellor’s award for the fall 2013 semester at the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

Addie Gecas, of Grand Marais, is majoring in apparel design and development. She is the daughter of Greg and Barb Gecas of Grand Marais.

Katherine Vander Heiden of Grand Marais, is majoring in game design and development. Katie is a 2013 graduate of Cook County High School. She is the daughter of Lisa and Donny Sorlie of Grand Marais and Paul and Deb VanderHeiden of Douglas, Wyoming.

Brea Boomer of Grand Portage, is majoring in early childhood education. She is a 2011 graduate of Cook County High School and is the daughter of Mike and Lori Boomer of Grand Portage.

The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

UW-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, is a special mission university in the UW System. Enrollment this year was 9,286.
