Now that the high school season is over, the boys from Silver Bay and Cook County once again came together as one unit on the baseball field to participate in Legion Baseball.
The CCSB boys’ baseball team traveled to Deer River on June 13 and came home with a 9-4 victory.
Jacob Carpenter had a strong outing on the mound, taking the win for the Vikings. Jacob pitched 6.1 innings and gave up four hits, three runs, five walks, and struck out five.
Amos Falter led the way on offense by going three for four at the plate. Amos scored twice and had two RBIs.
J Shannon collected two hits on five plate appearances. Four other Vikings each collected one hit, Jacob Carpenter, Hunter Gomez, Ethan Tate, and R Shannon.
Deer Rivers pitcher P. Reed had 11 strikeouts but walked nine and gave up nine hits.
The Vikings ended with five errors to one for Deer River.
