After six innings of shutout ball, the Vikings bats came alive in the seventh inning and the Vikings escaped from Proctor with a 4-2 win in Legion play-off baseball.
The Vikings are now 2-0 in the play-offs.
The game was played in Proctor on Sunday, July 24.
Jacob Carpenter had a outstanding day on the mound. Carpenter threw seven innings, giving up two runs while allowing seven hits and striking out two.
Ethan Carter started for Proctor. Carter pitched three innings, allowing two hits and striking out three while shutting out the Vikings. AJ Reynels took the loss for the Rails. He threw one inning, allowing four runs on four hits. He struck out three and walked one.
Proctor took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. Both AJ Reynels and Josh Risdahl had RBIs for Proctor in that inning.
Jake Stadler was 2-3 at the plate with one walk and three RBIs. Benelli Myers was 2-4 with one RBI. Hunter Gomez and Jacob Carpenter also had one hit each for the Vikings.
The Vikings were error free in the game while Proctor had one error. The Vikings walked six time and were struck out ten times. Proctor had two walks and two strikeouts in the contest.
