The boys from Cook County/Silver Bay out hit Proctor 10 to 8 but lost 17-8 to end their play-off run in Legion baseball.
The game was played on Wednesday, July 27 in Proctor and the kids ended with a two-two record in the play offs.
While the Vikings out hit their opponents, the difference in the game was walks. The Vikings ended up walking once while Proctor players were given 20 free bases.
Proctor got off to a 3-0 lead after one and extended their lead 9-3 after two innings of play. The Rails added two runs in the third, two in the fifth and four in the sixth. Meanwhile the Vikings scored one run in the fifth and four in the sixth and were shutout in the seventh inning.
Hunter Gomez pitched two innings, giving up nine runs off five hits. He walked seven and struck out three. Amos Falter came in out of the bullpen and pitched two innings. Amos allowed four runs off two hits, walking seven and striking out two. Clayton Smith and Ethan Tate each pitched with Smith giving up one hit and allowing four runs.
E. Carter picked up the win for Proctor. Carter pitched 6.1 innings allowing eight runs off ten hits. He struck out seven and walked one.
Proctor made three errors while the Vikings committed one error.
At the plate Jacob Carpenter ended up with three hits and two RBIs. Amos Falter had two hits and two RBIs, Hunter Gomez had one hit and two RBIs and the following Vikings each had one hit in the game: Jake Mixdorf, Clayton Smith, Hunter Rex, and Ethan Tate.
