Cook County Schools ISD 166 Education Foundation news

For the last two years, there have been many changes to our local Education Foundation.

As we all know, due to the pandemic, the primary fundraiser, E.A.T.S. (Enriching Education Through Sustenance), was unable to be held for our community. Very little fundraising has occurred, as a result. But there is an opportunity to support this group in the very near future!

Give to the MAX Day is next Thursday, November 17. It is an opportunity to donate to non-profits like our Education Foundation here in Cook County. Go on-line to Give to the Max Day, search for Cook County, and scroll down to the VIKING (our school district mascot) where you’ll see Cook County Schools Education Foundation. It’s as easy as that. Just click on the DONATE button!

Now, that is the first way you can help. Next, you can consider joining the Board. Doug Sanders, who has been serving on the Education Foundation Board as treasurer since 2005 is retiring! We need another individual to fill his seat on the board and fill that Treasurer’s position, as well. If you or someone you know is interested in serving as treasurer, contact the current President, Ann Sullivan, at woodburysullivan@gmail.com or call 612-834-8972 to get an application. Applications are due by December 1 and will be discussed and voted on at the Thursday, December 12 board meeting.

We have had several individuals join our board in recent years. Below is our new board photo (minus Dave Hanson). Come join this group as they plan for the March 9, 2023, E.A.T.S. event. Yes, E.A.T.S. is back! Restaurants and food vendors will be receiving information in the next few weeks about the event and asking for their participation. More information will be coming soon!
