The Cook County Community Fund (CCCF) and Northern Wilds Publishing have teamed up to publish a free directory of all nonprofit organizations and volunteer groups doing work in Cook County. The directory is being mailed to every home in the county this week, will be available at businesses and organizations throughout the county, and is also accessible on a newly-created website, www.guide2giving.com.

Richard Olson, CCCF board member, is in charge of the project. “We’re excited about pulling together this information for everyone in the county to access easily,” he said. “Cook County has over 100 nonprofits and volunteer groups, and we want to make sure residents and visitors know how to find them and how to help out. It’s an active community and this is something of value to everyone, to have complete information to connect donors/volunteers to those groups in need.”

Guide to Giving is a first-ever directory of the nonprofits active in Cook County. It provides an all-in-one source for information whether you need a hand or you’re looking to volunteer your time and talents. Look for it in local mailboxes within the next week.
