The Cook County Minnesota Highway Department is seeking candidates for the Highway Advisory Committee to represent districts 2, 3, and 5 (one opening in each district).
The Highway Advisory Committee is a sounding board for the County Engineer and helps make recommendations on highway department policy and responsibilities, as well as a way for the department to inform the public on upcoming projects and grant opportunities. The goal of the Highway Advisory Committee is to increase transparency and improve communication between the Highway Department and the citizens of Cook County. Members include citizen representatives from all five commissioner districts, Grand Portage reservation, the City of Grand Marais, Cook County Board of Commissioners, the County Administrator, and various Highway Department staff. The Highway Advisory Committee meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:00 a.m. at the Highway Department.
