No surprise here, but with the state-wide COVID-19 restrictions established for lodging and shopping, the Cook County one percent local option sales tax was down considerably for April and May this year compared to the same time during 2019.
April was down -39.2 percent and May was off -37.6 percent.
Year-to-date the county is down -6.2 percent over last year after seeing increases in lodging in January, February and March over 2019.
