10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking
dog complaint. A deputy spoke with
the dogs’ owner.
11:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle fire
on Devil Track Road.
4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a missing 7-year-old boy. The boy
returned home soon after the call,
and everything was okay.
4:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Old Ski Hill Road.
6:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Numerous
911 calls received concerning an
older gentleman who was seen
wandering and confused at mile
marker 62. A deputy and trooper
took care of it.
9:56 p.m., Hovland: Ontario man, 68,
cited for inattentive driving.
Tuesday, April 19
7:42 a.m., Grand Marais: False alarm
at the credit union. The burglar alarm
was tripped.
9:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about two semis parked near Super
America all night, with their engines
running. The caller said it violates a
city ordinance.
10:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Dead deer
reported in the eastbound lane of
Highway 61 near mile marker 96.
10:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about two semis on Pine Mountain
Road with unsecured loads, possibly
headed to Cloquet.
2:32 p.m., Grand Portage: Trooper
called to the port of entry after the
casino bus was rear-ended. An elderly
woman was complaining of back pain
but did not know who would pay the
medical bills.
4:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand
Portage man, 18, cited for speeding.
Wednesday, April 20
6:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Lake
County requested mutual assistance
in searching for a missing hiker.
8:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Ontario
man cited for speeding.
12:18 p.m., Colvill: Speeding ticket
issued.
Thursday, April 21
1:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance
called to a residence for a possible
compression fracture.
6:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder
Bay man, 50, cited for speeding.
6:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Complaint
about a speeding black Corvette on
Store Road. The caller said it has been
going on for the last few days.
Friday, April 22
7:16 a.m., Schroeder: Van in the ditch
with windows broken out, about five
miles up the Cramer Road. There was
nobody around.
8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder
Bay man, 23, cited for speeding.
10:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder
Bay woman, 48, cited for speeding.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a speeding stock car on County Road

1:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder
Bay woman, 26, cited for speeding.
2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder
Bay woman, 41, cited for speeding.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
reported that someone broke into
his apartment and took a hand-held
tape player. There was no evidence
of a break-in. Also, the caller said he
believes the apartment above him is
doing surveillance.
3:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report
of two Trans-Ams racing on the
highway near Croftville Road. The
caller said it was the second day in
a row he observed this. A deputy
located one of the vehicles in town
and spoke with the driver.
6:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Truck
struck and killed a deer near mile
marker 116.
9:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a green vehicle with its flashers on
along County Road 7.
Saturday, April 23
3:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
expressed concern about her missing
29-year-old son, who called and
said he was in town, but couldn’t be
found. The mother was eventually
able to contact him and he was okay.
5:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Dead
deer on the highway just east of the
Cascade State Park parking area.
9:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of
a guy lying in a ditch on Eliza Road.
The caller said she didn’t want to
stop and talk to him to see what was
going on, and she didn’t know what
was going on with him. A deputy was
unable to locate the man.
10:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Two
gunshots heard on Pike Lake Road. A
deputy found no activity.
Sunday, April 24
2:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Thunder
Bay man, 86, cited for speeding.
3:01 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand
Marais woman, 30, cited for
speeding.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Van stuck in
the ditch on Temperance River Road.
There was too much snow for a tow
truck to remove it, but it was not in
the way of traffic.
7:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Garbage
was dumped in the gravel pit off
County Road 6. Some of the papers
had an individual’s name on them,
but that individual is deceased.
