Monday, March 14
1:22 a.m., Grand Portage: Tow truck called to pull a vehicle
and snowmobile trailer from the ditch at mile marker 135.
10:39 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested following a
tenant-landlord dispute at Bay Estate Apartments.
2:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a competing business
has damaged her business by telling customers that she is
no longer in business. The parties are competing advertising
companies.
2:29 p.m., Colvill: Thunder Bay woman, 56, cited for speeding.
3:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman, 27, cited for speeding.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that there were five
young men in the school and looking suspicious. They are not
Cook County students, and were escorted out of the building.
They were cooperative, but acting weird. They were gone
when a deputy arrived to investigate.
6:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a 16-year-old
girl took about $300 from her account and took off with a
friend. After getting her signed as a runaway, an alert was sent
out and the two girls were found in South St. Paul. One was
returned to a relative’s house in Inver Grove Heights, the other
taken to a shelter in Hastings.
8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a silent, low-flying aircraft
that was seen flying east to west over Cascade Beach Road was
investigated to no avail.
Tuesday, March 15
10:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested concerning a
threat.
11:45 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck by a vehicle on the highway.
1:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 20, cited for
speeding.
1:38 p.m., Hovland: Report of an injured deer crawling across
the highway.
2:56 p.m., Lutsen: Gas drive-off of $41.
Wednesday, March 16
6:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy put down an injured deer in
the 1700 block of East Highway 61.
8:16 a.m., Schroeder: Vehicle in the ditch near the Caribou
River.
1:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage woman, 25, cited for
speeding.
Thursday, March 17
8:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Person arrested for making
terroristic threats after a text message was sent threatening to
kill the recipient.
11:10 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
17-year-old boy with a concussion and lower back injury.
5:38 p.m., Lutsen: Caller reported his cell phone was stolen
from his vehicle while parked at Lutsen Mountains.
5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: MnDOT complained about some
kids who were playing on the sand piles and wouldn’t leave
after being told several times. A trooper was notified and
spoke with the kids.
Friday, March 18
12:16 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove an
intoxicated and belligerent man from the lounge after he was
cut off. A deputy took him home.
7:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer on County Road 35.
10:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 23, cited for
speeding.
12:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested to get
a dog out of the water in the harbor near North House. The
dog eventually got itself out as the officer arrived.
1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of missing money from two
motel rooms.
1:35 p.m., Lutsen:TheComplaint that a person was skiing2×2with& a

4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that a person was in the
caller’s house when nobody else was there, and now $180 is
missing.
