Monday, Feb. 28
10:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 40, cited for
speeding and driving after suspension.
10:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 49, cited for
speeding.
10:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident with no
injuries on Third Avenue West. A vehicle was struck by
another as it was exiting the driveway.
10:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 48, cited for
speeding.
2:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Rochester man, 49, cited for
speeding.
5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested after
a 12-year-old boy threatened to run away from home and
left with some friends. The deputy found him and brought
him home.
Tuesday, March 1
4:39 p.m., Hovland: Deer struck and killed on the highway
just east of Moose Valley Road.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was called to
investigate a suspicious vehicle that was parked on Black
Granite Trail. The owner was eventually contacted, and
said the car was left there because the tires weren’t good
enough to get the vehicle all the way to the residence she
was staying at.
5:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported the loss of a ¼
carat diamond solitaire pendant on a gold chain on Feb.
13, possibly at Holiday.
Wednesday, March 2
6:02 a.m., Tofte: Caller reported that her grandson, 28, did
not come home the previous night after his AA meeting in
Grand Marais. He later called and said he was okay.
12:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to speak with an
irate customer at the pharmacy.
Thursday, March 3
2:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Business fraud reported. The
caller said a firm sold him $1,500 worth of advertising in
directories, and never created the product.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Golden Valley woman, 56, cited
for inattentive driving.
6:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a power problem
on Sag Lake Trail.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage reported on the
Gunflint Trail.
Friday, March 4
10:40 a.m., Lutsen: Theft of services reported at the ski hill.
An employee was skiing without a pass and trying to get
his guest onto the lift without a pass either.
12:20 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
55-year-old man with a back injury.
2:29 p.m., Grand Portage: Theft of prescription medication
reported from a residence.
Saturday, March 5
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity investigated.
10:42 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
14-year-old girl with a head injury.
12:41 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
woman, 27, with a back injury.
12:47 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for an
unconscious man, 20, with a head injury. He was taken to
the hospital and then to Duluth via helicopter.
5:21 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance requested at the ski hill for a
25-year-old man with a wrist and head injury.
6:24 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck on the highway just east of
town.
Sunday, March 6
11:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of possible tampering
with vehicles. The caller said it has happened before.
11:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Duluth woman, 28, cited for
speeding.
11:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested from the
Highway Department to help remove a bus from the ditch
on Hungry Jack Road.
11:49 a.m., Grand Marais: St. Louis Park man, 53, cited for
speeding.
12:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Van in the ditch just below Four
Corners on the Gunflint Trail.
2:15 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the hospital for a
17-year-old man with a possible concussion.
2:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Lakeville man, 50, cited for
speeding.
4:19 p.m., Lutsen: Hit-and-run damage to a parked vehicle
at Eagle Ridge.
8:39 p.m., Schroeder: Report of threatening text messages
and harassment.
