Monday, Jan. 17

11:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a vehicle was unloading snowmobiles in the middle of the Gunflint Trail near Hedstrom’s. A deputy spoke with the people, who were having vehicle trouble. 1:34 p.m., Schroeder: Cabin break-in reported. Food and tools were taken. 4:35 p.m., Lutsen: Report that an intoxicated person would soon be leaving the ski hill, headed to Cliff dweller. 6:02 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck on the highway, causing damage to the vehicle. The deer was flipped over the lake side snowbank. 6:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone stole his Play Station out of a vehicle a couple weeks ago, and sold it for $40. 7:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Neighbor complaint about a dog.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

9:31 a.m., Schroeder: Vehicle roll-over near Temperance. No injuries reported. 10:58 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputies executed a search warrant. 3:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage to a vehicle parked on Cascade Beach Road. 7:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Verbal altercation reported. 11:01 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy spoke with all persons involved in an altercation at the casino during which threats were made.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

3:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault reported that happened the night of Jan. 5. 8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested a deputy to investigate an animal that got into her bird feeders and was sitting on her deck. 6:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident reported on the highway, just west of Onion River. No injuries.

Thursday, Jan. 20

3:55 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic disturbance investigated. 9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Timber wolf struck and killed by a vehicle on the highway just west of Devil Track River. 7:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Man taken to detox following a loud argument at Harborview Apartments. The man was volatile and combative, and believed to be under the influence of some type of narcotic.

Friday, Jan. 21

9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued to Eden Prairie man, 30. 11:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Game warden or deputy requested to free a buck that was stuck in the Lake Superior ice near Rosebush Lane. 1:55 p.m., Colvill: Pine City man, 40, cited for speeding. 11:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Howards Grove, Wis., man, 50, arrested for DWI.

Saturday, Jan. 22

2:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Strong propane smell reported at a Morgan Road residence. The fire department was paged to investigate. 12:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Car slid through the stop sign at Fifth Avenue West and hit a vehicle on the highway. No injuries. 5:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Dead deer reported in the middle of the highway near Superior Lumber. 7:50 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported an unwanted person in her house.

Sunday, Jan. 23

7:25 a.m., Lutsen: Car in the ditch on Highway 61 near Kah Nee Tah. 7:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested while a vehicle was pulled out of the ditch about a mile north of Lullaby Creek on the Gunflint Trail. 11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle flipped over near mile marker 90. 11:49 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 16-year-old male with a head injury. 12:13 p.m., Lutsen: Fender-bender in the Cascade Restaurant parking lot. 1:09 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck by a vehicle near Ski Hill Road. The deer flew and hit the stop sign, taking it out. 2:22 p.m., Lutsen: Fire in cabin 4 at Solbakken. 4:12 p.m., Tofte: Vehicle in the ditch on the lake side of the highway. 4:39 p.m., Tofte: Propane tanker tipped over on the highway in front of Holiday. Surrounding residences were evacuated until the tanker was hauled away. 4:55 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch across from Isak Hansen’s. No injuries. 6:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Accident reported on Third Street. A parked car was struck. 7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: A minivan was stopped on the highway with no lights, creating a traffic hazard. Tow truck called. 9:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a domestic disturbance.
