Monday, Jan. 3 2:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to speak with a deputy about a criminal sexual conduct offense that happened 25 years ago. 8:04 p.m., Lutsen: Report of an erratic driver. Tuesday, Jan. 4 7:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle rollover reported about a mile north of Seagull Guard Station. 9:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Resident reported that a man claiming to be with Homeland Security came to his house and wanted information about a neighbor. County staff checked it out, and it was legitimate; it was a routine background check. 10:11 a.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance requested by Customs after an officer hit and cut his head on the back of a trailer. 12:33 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said she went to get her stuff from her ex’s residence, but he threw everything out including her daughter’s stuff and medication. 1:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint against a tenant. 4:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage woman, 17, cited for speeding. 4:50 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that somebody had tried to bust in the back door of a residence, but never made it through. 8:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested to locate missing snowmobilers somewhere between Lima Mountain Road and the Brule River parking area. The caller called again to say the sled had broken down, and they were on the trail about three miles south of the parking area. 10:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested for a vehicle that went into the ditch near Cutface Creek. Wednesday, Jan. 5 12:25 a.m., Tofte: Noise complaint at Bluefin Bay. 11:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Car in the ditch near mile marker 104. 12:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver stopped at the border with 6 grams of marijuana. 1:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Person was chased by an untied black dog on Eighth Avenue twice in the past two days. A deputy spoke with the owner. 5:45 p.m., Lutsen: Wolf struck and injured on the highway near the Sea Villas. 6:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that a snowmobiler was doing laps around the block at a high rate of speed. 7:21 p.m., Lutsen: Papa Charlie’s reported that a couple people were trying to bring in their own alcohol. They were escorted out, but returned and were trying to break property. Thursday, Jan. 6 1:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Tofte man, 46, arrested for DWI. 9:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Dog-bite victim treated at the hospital. 11:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Princeton woman, 41, cited for no proof of insurance. 1:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of medications reported. 2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a snowmobile accident south of the Gunflint Trail. 3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Search & Rescue called out to locate a child who got off the school bus, and his mother couldn’t be there to pick him up because she was stuck in the driveway. 4:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to go to the Birch Terrace and give an emergency message. 8:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern about two dogs that were left in a truck for a couple hours. Friday, Jan. 7 9:03 p.m., Lutsen: Two Cloquet women, ages 24 and 27, were stopped for possession of a controlled substance (mushrooms) and paraphernalia. One was cited, and the other was booked into jail to await court. 10:26 p.m., Grand Portage: An anonymous caller reported that there was going to be an underage drinking party in a room at the lodge. A deputy checked it out, and the room number didn’t exist, nor did security have any noise complaints. 11:14 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy requested at Papa Charlie’s to remove an intoxicated and unruly man at the bar. The man left before the deputy’s arrival. 11:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 26, given a blood test and booked into jail after crashing his vehicle. Saturday, Jan. 8 12:46 a.m., Grand Marais: A truck slid and hit a parked car near the intersection of First Avenue West and Fourth Street. 12:57 a.m., Grand Portage: Report that a drunk and mad woman was driving around Grand Portage was determined to be unfounded. 1:42 a.m., Grand Portage: Three Canadians, ages 17, 18 and 20, were cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia after being stopped at the border with 47.8 grams. 9:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an abandoned car in the ditch at mile marker 137. The owner was contacted and said he had made arrangements for the vehicle to be towed later that evening. Sunday, Jan. 9 2:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to pick up a stray dog.
