Monday, Dec. 13

8:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller received a threatening letter.

10:07 a.m., Lutsen: Thunder Bay man, 60, cited for speeding.

2:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of art reported — two pieces valued at $650.

Tuesday, Dec. 14
6:17 a.m., Schroeder: Power outage reported.

10:22 a.m., Lutsen: Several alarms reported. Everything was found to be okay.

10:48 a.m., Lutsen: Thunder Bay man, 19, cited for speeding.

4:04 p.m., Schroeder: Deputy requested to check on an abandoned van.

7:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway just east of town, and possibly injured on the road. Trooper notified.

Wednesday, Dec. 15

8:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-car accident near the bus garage on County Road 7. No injuries.

12:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Detroit man, 22, cited for speeding.

9:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 52, cited for speeding.

9:25 p.m., Colvill: Ontario man, 18, cited for speeding.

Thursday, Dec. 16

3:19 a.m., Lutsen: Burglar alarm activated at the credit union’s night drop box. The building was found to be secure.

1:01 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of stolen meds.

3:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black Canadian pick-up truck traveling erratically and unsafely.

5:19 p.m., Hovland: Deer struck on the highway.

10:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 31, cited for speeding and failure to change address on driver’s license.

11:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Hit-and-run damage done to a parked vehicle in the casino’s lower lot.

Friday, Dec. 17

3:58 p.m., Hovland: Vehicle in the ditch just west of Hovland.

8:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle in the ditch on Mount Josephine. Tow truck called.

Saturday, Dec. 18

12:15 a.m., Schroeder: Deer struck near Outpost Motel, still thrashing around off the roadway. Trooper responded and put the deer down.

1:45 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle pulled from the ditch off the highway. No injuries.

2:29 p.m., Lutsen: Power outage in Lutsen. REA notified.

5:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck just south of Cascade River. Vehicle was damaged and the deer ran off into the woods.

9:34 p.m., Tofte: Tofte fire chief called to check on a residence where a carbon monoxide detector was going off.

9:46 p.m., Grand Portage: Alarm going off at the community center.

Sunday, Dec. 19

1:20 a.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported; the caller said he had a broken nose.

12:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost checkbook reported.
