Monday, Dec. 6
8:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Person wanted to speak with a deputy about a registered sex offender.
12:34 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported 14 missing pills.
1:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage man, 32, cited for speeding, no proof of insurance and no driver’s license.
5:11 p.m., Hovland: Report of a structure fire was found to be a brush pile that was being monitored.
Tuesday, Dec. 7
4:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at Sven & Ole’s. An open door was found.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais woman, 56, cited for speeding.
10:12 a.m., Grand Marais: A matter between a customer and a local jeweler was determined to be a civil matter, but the issue was resolved.
12:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage woman arrested for controlled substance violation.
2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: A tan and white dog wearing a gray sweatshirt was seen running loose in front of the library. It didn’t belong to anybody in the library.
Wednesday, Dec. 8
12:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to Birch Terrace following an assault in which nobody was really hurt. The deputy spoke with the people involved.
3:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with finding lodging for a man who was kicked out of his brother’s residence.
Thursday, Dec. 9
9:18 a.m., Grand Portage: Counterfeit $1 bill found at the casino.
Friday, Dec. 10
8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway near Cascade Beach Road.
10:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about snowmobilers.
4:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy spoke with both parties after a threat was made.
Saturday, Dec. 11
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a deer with a broken leg that was struck by a car and still on the highway near Cutface. The caller said the birds were already trying to get at it.
1:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Person who brought in a trap that was taken off his dog was advised it’s a crime to tamper with traps.
Sunday, Dec. 12
12:45 a.m., Grand Portage: An 18-year-old was turned back by Canadian Customs officials because he had been drinking. He was taken to detox.
12:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay woman, 23, cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:51 a.m., Tofte: Caller reported his off-peak electric was not working.
11:23 a.m.: Mangy coyote with no fur and open sores was seen just below the Lutheran church. Game warden notified.
1:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Internet fraud investigation.
2:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck at mile marker 74.
