8:59 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to an alarm at a business. It was believed some nearby construction work may have set it off.

10:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Mequon, Wis., woman, 36, cited for speeding.

10:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Woodbury man, 69, cited for speeding.

2:14 p.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance called after a 12-year-old girl fell about

4:24 p.m., Schroeder: Silver Bay ambulance paged to transport a telephone employee who fell from a ladder.

6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Patrols requested on County Road 56, where a drinking party had reportedly occurred the previous night until 4 a.m.

10:00 a.m., Grand Marais: A gun that was stolen from a local man in Cloquet was recovered by the Minneapolis Police during the execution of a search warrant. The owner was notified.

10:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Oakdale man, 62, cited for speeding.

11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of missing prescription medications.

11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported the loss of a canoe that was discovered missing from his boat trailer somewhere between Grand Marais and Golden Eagle Lodge. The canoe and motor were found on the Gunflint Trail near South Brule and returned.

Friday, June 26

4:24 a.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about being awakened for the second day in a row by neighbors fighting, swearing and yelling at each other around 4 a.m.

6:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway near the Fall River, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.

9:21 a.m., Schroeder: Cross River Heritage Center reported the theft of a donation jar containing $30-$40. There are no suspects.

9:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Construction company doing the Onion River work reported that an Ontario vehicle almost ran a flag person over and then drove right on through the construction zone, going eastbound. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

3:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an intoxicated driver near Rockwood Lodge.

8:35 p.m., Hovland: Deputy called to assist a woman described as distraught and crying. She was picked up by a passerby who saw her walking on the Arrowhead Trail. 11:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about a group on the beach near Best Western.

Saturday, June 27

12:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a big truck squealing its tires up and down the street at the corner near Birch Terrace.

3:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Villa Park, Ill., man, 38 arrested and charged with fourth-degree DUI following a onevehicle accident at mile marker 105.

12:01 p.m., Grand Portage: Investigation into a report that someone passed out on a hiking trail at the state park. The report was apparently a rumor.

2:06 p.m., Grand Marais: MnDOT notified of a large sink hole (3 feet in diameter) in the eastbound lane of the Onion River construction zone.

6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a large blue tarp in the highway near Cascade Beach Road.

Sunday, June 28

12:43 p.m., Grand Portage: A summer resident at the campground reported the theft of an electric Igloo cooler that contained beer, soft drinks and some fruit. It was unknown who may have taken it.

12:51 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove an unwanted, intoxicated Thunder Bay man who would not leave the premises when he was told he could not get a room. U.S. Customs did the paperwork for the man to leave the country and not return.

3:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 22, cited for license plate violation.

4:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Minneapolis man, 54, cited for no seat belt.
