Monday, Nov. 22

8:27 a.m., Grand Portage: Vandalism reported to a vehicle parked at the national monument. The lenses on the tail light were busted out.

9:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 65, cited for speeding.

2:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man cited for speeding.

3:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident reported east of town near Five Mile Rock. A tow truck was needed, but no injuries were reported.

3:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested for traffic control after a couple vehicles went into the ditch and needed a tow.

5:25 p.m., Tofte: Icy dangerous conditions reported at the bottom of the Caribou Trail. Highway Department notified.

Tuesday, Nov. 23

7:25 a.m., Hovland: Suspicious vehicle seen on Moose Valley Road.

10:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassing cell phone calls reported.

2:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card theft-fraud reported. Because the incidents occurred in Duluth (over $10,000), the caller was advised to contact Duluth police to investigate.

2:13 p.m., Grand Portage: Mother reported that her 17-year-old daughter was habitually skipping school. The issue was referred to Human Services.

7:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Silver Bay man, 20, arrested on a Lake County warrant.

10:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway near County Road 14, causing “significant” front end damage.

Wednesday, Nov. 24

7:40 p.m., Lutsen: Car into the ditch between Ski Hill Road and Clearview.

10:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck between mile markers 136 and 137.

Thursday, Nov. 25

8:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the credit union. The building was found to be secure.

2:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Power outage reported.

5:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the credit union. The building was found to be secure.

Friday, Nov. 26

1:44 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck two miles east of Lutsen Resort.

3:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the credit union again. The building was found to be secure.

8:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway near County Road 80.

9:35 a.m., Lutsen: Caller reported a problem with in-floor heating.

4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Holiday reported a $39.61 gas drive-off.

6:45 p.m., Hovland: Complaint that a green truck was blocking half of the road about a half-mile up County Road 69. A deputy responded, and the vehicle was pulled off the road.

7:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to check on a neighbor who was burning brush. The caller said it was too windy.

11:10 p.m., Hovland: Power outage reported from Colvill to Grand Portage and Lutsen.

11:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage reported to Public Utilities.

11:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on the highway near Fall River Road.

Saturday, Nov. 27

12:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Tree down and blocking County Road 14, about two miles up from the highway.

6:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of lines down across the road at the intersection of Broadway and Fourth Street. A PUC lineman responded and determined the wires were street light lines and fixed the problem.

7:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Large spruce tree on power lines on County Road 7 just east of County Road 44. REA notified.

7:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch on the Gunflint Trail about two miles from town.

8:00 p.m., Tofte: Deputy requested regarding a phone card scam.

Sunday, Nov. 28

11:02 a.m., Lutsen: Report that a father was beating up his teen-aged son in the parking lot at Caribou Highlands. The incident was referred to the county attorney.

12:06 p.m., Lutsen: Two people arrested and booked into jail on charges of domestic assault.

6:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of about $2,000 worth of missing electronic equipment at Terrace Point. The caller said the equipment is gone, but has been replaced with other equipment.

10:20 p.m., Lutsen: Fire alarm at Caribou Highlands. The cause was malfunctioning sprinklers, and the fire department was cancelled.
