Monday, Nov. 8
9:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Ottawa woman, 23, cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Hovland woman, 30, cited for careless driving.
11:54 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported that someone had broken into his home and stole his jazz guitar. The person called back a short time later to say he found the guitar — it wasn’t stolen.
Tuesday, Nov. 9
1:26 a.m., Grand Portage: Numerous calls from a person reporting a woman took her meds from her and hit her.
10:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Becker man, 50, cited for no seat belt.
11:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to look for the owner of a red truck with an ATV in the back that was parked off the Gunflint Trail just past County Road 92. Thecaller said the truck had been parked there for two days, and was concerned someone was injured or lost.
Wednesday, Nov. 10
9:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais resident, 33, cited for speeding.
12:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Theft of prescription meds (seven pills) reported.
6:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Inver Grove Heights woman cited for speeding.
Thursday, Nov. 11
8:21 a.m., Tofte: Theft of a paddleboat reported from the Tofte dock. The owner said it was there Tuesday.
8:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious vehicle with Arizona plates that was completely full of stuff, and it appears a person was living in it. A deputy met with the owner, who was coming out of the woods, and she said she was just out for a walk.
12:37 p.m., Grand Marais: A deputy investigating a cabin break-in on Aspen Lake found three other places damaged on Clearwater Road. It is believed some gasoline was stolen, but unknown what else was missing.
5:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputies were called to a domestic argument. An arrest was made and the offender charged with domestic assault, damage to property and an outstanding warrant.
8:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Ottawa woman, 34, arrested for fifth-degree possession of cocaine at the border.
Friday, Nov. 12
11:34 a.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs stopped a man at the border with 3 grams of meth and ecstasy, and $94,000 in Canadian bills. The person will be charged federally.
1:00 p.m., Hovland: A garage was broken into, but it appeared nothing was stolen.
3:43 p.m., Tofte: School bus stop arm violation reported on the highway.
8:32 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a gunshot coming from the Schroeder Town Hall. Thecaller said she saw a truck and car leave the area. 10:23 p.m., Schroeder: Dispute between property owner and the owner of a skid steer that was blocking his property and rutting the area.
11:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Call from a woman at the Pump House who saw a blond man in a black hoodie who was banging on the doors, trying to get in for the last half-hour. The woman said she was afraid to leave until the man finally left, headed toward the Gunflint Tavern on foot. A deputy could not locate the man.
Saturday, Nov. 13
2:19 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a party at Picnic Bay Estates, with possible underage drinking. A deputy spoke with the group.
7:39 a.m., Tofte: Report of suspicious activity at a house where construction was going on.
10:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Woman reported that she received a threatening phone call from another woman, unknown who it was.
1:47 p.m., Grand Portage: Power outage reported. REA notified.
4:41 p.m., Lutsen: Highway Department notified of slick conditions on the top half of the Ski Hill Road.
9:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Child protection case.
10:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at Gunnar’s to deal with an intoxicated man who was harassing people and trying to start fights.
Sunday, Nov. 14
2:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested a deputy to investigate an “odd glow” coming from the north side of her house. A deputy did not see anything unusual.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay woman, 42, cited for speeding.
Monday, Nov. 15
4:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a groomer was taken sometime within the last two weeks from a hangar at the old airport.
Tuesday, Nov. 16
8:02 a.m., Hovland: Fire department called to a chimney fire.
5:32 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy requested to talk with the caller about possible harassment.
7:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern about a small boat on Lake Superior, just west of Five Mile Rock, due to the time of day and time of year. The boat was westbound.
Wednesday, Nov. 17
8:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer in the ditch at 2375 W. Highway 61.
9:45 a.m., Tofte: Neighbor problem.
10:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy spoke with both parties who were having a domestic argument.
Thursday, Nov. 18
4:34 a.m., Grand Portage: Suicide threat.
Friday, Nov. 19
8:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Car with teenagers in the ditch on County Road 7. A pick-up pulled them out before a deputy arrived. There were no reports of injuries.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay woman, 31, cited for speeding.
12:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 22, cited for speeding.
4:38 p.m., Schroeder: New Brighton man, 20, arrested for possession of a stolen ATV and having a loaded uncased firearm on a motor vehicle. He was booked into jail.
5:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported he and his wife were having an argument.
6:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Tow truck needed to pull a vehicle from the ditch on County Road 8.
7:30 p.m., Lutsen: A deputy picked up a runaway juvenile.
11:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Chimney fire.
Saturday, Nov. 20
3:38 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said he believes someone is going into his and nearby garages because he can see the lights going on and off, and motion detectors lighting.
10:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Eau Claire, Wis., woman, 59, cited for speeding.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 62, cited for speeding.
2:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Florida woman, 42, cited for speeding.
3:36 p.m., Grand Marais: St. Paul man, 29, cited for speeding.
8:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway just east of town.
9:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Female caller said she was all alone and wanted to talk to somebody. She seemed confused.
11:39 p.m., Tofte: Caller said he stopped a couple kids who were trying to break into his vehicle. Theyfledwest, and there was no damage done, or anything taken.
Sunday, Nov. 21
7:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Rolled-over pick-up at Temperance River. Rescue personnel were cancelled when it was learned nobody was at the scene.
11:22 a.m., Schroeder: Internet scam investigated.
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch, about five miles south of Cascade. Two people and a dog were inside, but there were no injuries.
12:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident on Highway 61 about four miles south of Cascade. Three people were taken to the hospital.
5:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a vehicle from the auto salvage yard. The vehicle contained about $3,000 worth of tools.
