Monday, Oct. 11
8:30 a.m., Schroeder: Caller caught a man using the showers at Lamb’s Resort. Suspect was told not to return to the property.
11:52 a.m., Lutsen: A private storage area on Ski Hill Road was broken into. Unknown if anything was taken.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: An out-of-town dog was picked up on County Road 7 and taken to the pound. Theowner was called and picked it up.
2:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Firewood and two homemade ATV ramps were reported stolen from the Poplar Lake access at the portage between One Island Lake and Portage Lake.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
2:53 p.m., Lutsen: Wallet found on the highway near Superior National Golf Course.
4:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 45, cited for no proof of insurance after he struck a parked vehicle.
7:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle about 10 miles north of town, damaging an enclosed motorcycle trailer. Damage estimated at $500-$1,000.
10:29 p.m., Tofte: Deer struck near Aspenwood.
Tuesday, Oct. 12
4:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance hit a deer on the highway near The Pie Place, causing damage to the headlight, fender and grill. A deputy dispatched the deer.
1:58 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of 36 stolen methodone pills.
7:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck about 15 miles east of town.
8:13 p.m., Lutsen: Dead deer on the highway near Alfred Creek.
Wednesday, Oct. 13
6:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit Union received a forged check for $450.
8:40 a.m., Lutsen: Highway Department requested a deputy after remains of some sort were discovered in a culvert near the parking area just above Jonvick Creek. It was determined that the remains were from a deer or bear.
12:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay woman, 39, cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
4:05 p.m., Grand Marais: One-vehicle rollover near the rock cut.
7:08 p.m., Hovland: A vehicle that was parked on the Arrowhead Trail about three miles south of McFarland Lake was struck by another vehicle and totaled. Theowner was out shooting a grouse. The incident is under investigation.
Thursday, Oct. 14
10:54 a.m., Schroeder: Vehicle in the ditch near 9448 W. Highway 61. No injuries, but a tow truck was needed.
11:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a man fired a shotgun and almost hit him as he was coming off McFarland Lake at the boat landing. Theman with the gun claimed he was shooting at a grouse, and left on an ATV.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Accident reported in the hospital parking lot.
7:22 p.m., Schroeder: Injured deer on the highway.
9:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Broken furniture on the highway near the new Gunflint Trail.
Friday, Oct. 15
5:30 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck near Lockport, totaling the car.
12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said some boys from the school are in her yard smoking under the big pine tree. It happens every year.
1:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said he was threatened in front of his child.
1:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Canadian man, 20, cited at the border for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
2:23 p.m., Hovland: Grand Portage woman, 25, cited for speeding.
3:54 p.m., Tofte: Caller said he observed two older men with a young girl acting strangely.
4:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an erratic driver going up the Gunflint Trail.
Saturday, Oct. 16
12:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Minneapolis man, 27, cited for speeding.
10:29 a.m., Tofte: Power outage reported. Thecaller said he heard a boom and then the power went out.
4:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Conservation officer requested to speak to a man about moose poaching in the Sag Lake area.
4:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a young wolf caught in a foot trap on a Forest Service road off the Gunflint Trail.
5:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he just hit a person with his vehicle in the Super America parking lot. No transport was necessary.
7:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Elko man, 48, cited for speeding.
7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman caller said she could hear someone outside her house banging on the doors, and she is afraid. Theman eventually broke the glass to try to gain entry. He was taken into custody and brought to the ER.
11:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of damage to a vehicle.
11:35 p.m., Colvill: Two Ontario drivers cited for speeding.
Sunday, Oct. 17
12:43 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove an unwanted person from the property. The person left on his own, and the deputy was cancelled.
11:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Alma, Wis., man, 58, cited for seat belt violation.
12:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Minneapolis man, 38, cited for seat belt violation.
7:05 p.m., Tofte: Mountain bike reported stolen from a residence.
