Monday, Oct. 4

8:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Stolen political yard sign reported.

11:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Two stolen political signs reported.

12:49 p.m., Tofte: Parking complaint.

4:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A black dog that was wandering downtown was put in the pound and the owner contacted.

9:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that an electric wheelchair was driving down the center of County Road 7.

10:40 p.m., Lutsen: Duluth man, 20, cited for driving after revocation.

Tuesday, Oct. 5

7:05 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and killed on the highway near Isak Hansen’s.

8:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Two vehicles were towed from the ditch off the Gunflint Trail near Loon Lake. One of the vehicles got stuck, and the second went in to try to pull it out; both became stuck.

4:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone tried to steal his snowmobile, as it had been moved.

11:11 p.m., Grand Portage: Hermantown man, 35, cited for no driver’s license, no insurance and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

11:21 a.m., Tofte: Theft of coolers filled with food, and a bag of charcoal reported stolen from sites at Temperance River State Park.

3:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Roll-over on County Road 60. No injuries reported.

Thursday, Oct. 7

2:54 a.m., Grand Marais: A caller out for a late-night jog saw a person in the Angry Trout walking around with a flashlight. It was an employee.

12:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about a loud truck exhaust.

2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to speak to a deputy about a vehicle that’s been parked on his property for the past four years.

Friday. Oct. 8

2:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a woman was calling for help near the Best Western.

11:22 a.m., Grand Portage: A vehicle went into the ditch on Store Road afterswerving to miss a deer. There were no injuries.

11:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a vehicle that appeared to be broken down just past the hospital on County Road 7, and two suspicious-looking people got out and were walking toward town. The caller thought a deputy better check them out.

2:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that her parents were missing after going to Grand Portage for a couple days. Theyleft on Sept. 30 and haven’t been heard from yet. State police were also notified.

3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to look at a campsite

that was found behind the football field at the high school. It appeared to be a pretty old campsite — there for at least one winter — and the school will dismantle it.

4:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of gunshots on the Cutoff Road.

7:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a small smoldering fire (about 10-by-10 feet) at Shoe Lake near the boat landing.

8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 23, arrested for possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

10:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Michigan man, 27, cited for hit and run following an incident in the Birch Terrace parking lot.

Saturday, Oct. 9

3:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an unattended fire on the corner of Third Avenue West and First Street. A deputy found that someone was there tending it.

2:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported at the school the previous day.

7:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Fire departments and search and rescue units were called out to find a missing 12-year-old boy who ran off near the moose viewing overlook trail. Theboy showed up a short time later, and all units were cancelled.

Sunday, Oct. 10

2:38 p.m., Grand Marais: One-acre fire reported on Little Snow Lake. USFS notified.

5:55 p.m., Hovland: Cabin break-in reported. Thedoor and window were broken, but it didn’t appear that anything was missing.

7:29 p.m., Tofte: Fender-bender in the Holiday parking lot. Minor damage.

8:25 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck by a Forest Service truck near the Sea Villas.
