Monday, Sept. 27

7:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential alarm on County Road 60.

9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about an erratic Illinois driver.

12:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.

5:09 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle accident reported on Highway 61 and Happy Acres.

7:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Deervehicle accident near Chateau Leveaux.

9:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a male criminal sex offender has not registered as required.

Tuesday, Sept. 28

11:35 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputies were called to the lodge to investigate an attempted arson in a room. There was a burned rag that had been wrapped around a light bulb, and tissue paper was found over the smoke alarm.

3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus stop arm violation on the highway.

4:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that kids were huffing canned compressed air.

9:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Loud stereo complaint.

Wednesday, Sept. 29

8:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to the school after a student was hit in the neck with a football.

2:14 p.m., Grand Marais: The Arrowhead Transit bus hit a parked vehicle downtown, damaging the bumper.

4:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.

8:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 58, cited for speeding.

Thursday, Sept. 30

7:01 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy requested to move a dead deer off the Caribou Trail.

7:15 p.m., Schroeder: Schroeder man, 34, arrested for domestic assault, obstructing the legal process, assault and DWI.

11:04 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported being assaulted by his ex-girlfriend.

Friday, Oct. 1

8:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Defacement of a political sign reported.

4:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay man, 21, arrested for possession of drugs and other related charges after being stopped at the border by Customs.

Saturday, Oct. 2

12:20 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of suspicious people hanging around a business.

2:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais woman, 52, arrested for DUI following a single-vehicle accident on South Shore Drive.

7:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a fire alarm going off at a vacant house. No smoke or fire was found. 11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A rifle was found on a Forest Service road.

3:58 p.m., Tofte: Deputies responded to a domestic altercation in front of the Coho Café.

4:19 p.m., Tofte: Complaint about neighbors shooting off firearms.

7:39 p.m., Grand Marais: A friendly springer spaniel was picked up downtown and placed in the pound until the owner was notified.

Sunday, Oct. 3

11:10 a.m., Tofte: Hit and run reported in the Bluefin parking lot overnight.

12:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about stolen political signs.

1:51 p.m., Grand Portage: Reported theft of $300 from a parked vehicle at the marina. Theman called back later and said he found the money — there was no theft.

2:24 p.m., Schroeder: Theft of jewelry reported.

3:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Stolen vehicle reported from the Best Western lot. The vehicle was found nearby, and the owner said she had forgotten where she parked it.

4:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a bunch of outdoor political signs.
