Saturday, Sept. 18
6:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage reported on County Road 7.
8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Fenderbender on the one-way street near Buck’s.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Joynes reported some vandalism that happened overnight. Thesign on the front of the building was broken with what was believed to be a shovel.
9:17 a.m., Lutsen: A baby hawk with a broken wing was at Isak Hansen’s. Game warden notified.
2:03 p.m., Lutsen: Cook County Ambulance and Lutsen First Responders were called to check out some paddlers who capsized their canoe on White Pine Lake. Everybody was okay.
8:37 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off of $41.60 from Holiday. State Patrol notified.
11:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Wisconsin woman, 60, cited for speeding.
Sunday, Sept. 19
12:35 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported that she can hear banging from the neighbor’s building, but a deputy could not get in. Some people were in another building, but they were not being disruptive.
1:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay woman, 52, cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
8:30 a.m., Grand Portage: A vehicle parked at the lodge was vandalized. There was a busted out window, a hole in the back window, footprints all over the hood, and the inside was trashed.
10:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Mendota Heights woman cited for speeding.
12:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that a political sign was stuck on a speed limit sign near the Rec Park entrance.
6:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay woman, 37, cited for speeding.
6:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that some boaters on Lake Superior were in distress turned out to be unfounded.
9:37 p.m., Lutsen: Caller had a question about the heater at his cabin.
Monday, Sept. 20
12:05 a.m., Schroeder: Silver Bay man, 29, arrested for DWI.
6:49 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and injured on the highway near Kah Nee Tah.
2:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a neighbor shooting a pellet gun across the road, hitting the caller’s trees.
5:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a stolen purse at Birch Terrace. The purse was later found, but $40 cash was missing.
5:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Powell, Tenn., man, 45, cited for speeding.
Tuesday, Sept. 21
8:13 a.m., Lutsen: School bus stop arm violation reported.
8:41 a.m., Hovland: Cabin break-in at Esther Lake reported.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Ontario man, 31, cited for speeding. 6:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a man who drove up to some kids who were playing in the street, opened the van door and started yelling. Thecaller (mother of one of the kids) said the kids were doing nothing wrong, and now they are somewhat scared.
6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman bitten by a dog on the portage at Duncan Lake was treated at the hospital.
8:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Failure to register as a criminal sex offender investigation.
Wednesday, Sept. 22
6:00 a.m., Lutsen: Duluth woman, 26, cited for speeding.
6:51 a.m., Lutsen: Business owner reported that an injured goose was wandering around the parking lot and could not fly. It appeared the bird had been hit by a car.
12:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Twocar accident at the corner of Devil Track Road and County Road 27. No injuries reported.
2:57 p.m., Hovland: Report of stolen construction equipment.
3:00 p.m., Lutsen: Report of damage to a canoe by firearm.
Thursday, Sept. 23
4:45 p.m., Tofte: Reported theft of a $1,500 custom-made firearm.
4:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic dispute.
6:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the pharmacy. The building was found to be secure.
7:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported at the school.
9:08 p.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault.
Friday, Sept. 24
12:45 a.m., Lutsen: Report of two gunshots, about a minute apart.
9:38 a.m., Colvill: People staying at a cabin woke up and found a dead deer on the driveway. They wondered if they could keep it? A permit was issued.
12:10 p.m., Grand Portage: Man arrested on two warrants out of Anoka County.
4:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about the driving conduct of a school bus driver.
6:59 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy spoke with parties involved in a verbal dispute at a motel after guests complained.
Saturday, Sept. 25
12:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a vehicle turned around in his driveway, four people got out and were smoking, wearing head lamps. Thecaller said he thought it was suspicious, but was unable to get a vehicle description.
8:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported the loss of a bag of tent stakes.
11:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing reported.
Sunday, Sept. 26
8:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Twovehicle accident. No injuries.
10:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Child abuse investigation.
2:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Car in the ditch near mile marker 147. A tow truck was called.
