Monday, Sept. 13

9:28 a.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit $20 bill was received at the lodge.

11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Sag Harbor, N.Y., man, 48, cited for speeding.

12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: A caller from Rosemount reported that somebody stole her dog, and she believes the suspect is from Cook County.

1:24 p.m., Schroeder: Tac Harbor reported the theft of a substantial amount of copper wire off of the Cleveland Cliffs property.

9:18 p.m., Tofte: Tofte man, 44, arrested for DWI refused to test.

Tuesday, Sept. 14

9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy moved a dead deer from the westbound lane of the highway near Terrace Point Condos.

9:04 p.m., Lutsen: Grand Marais man, 49, cited for speeding.

Wednesday, Sept. 15

1:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 30, arrested for DWI.

12:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Two juvenile runaways from Goodhue County were found sleeping in a car at the lodge. They were turned over to Social Services and taken to Bethany in Duluth. 5:43 p.m., Grand Marais: One-vehicle accident on the Grade. Tow truck called.

6:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Man reported that a dog bit his son’s lip Sept. 5 at the Rec Park. Two stitches were needed.

9:13 p.m., Tofte: Kansas man, 56, cited for speeding.

Thursday, Sept. 16

1:28 and 3:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarms at a downtown building were activated. The building was found to be secure both times.

3:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Duluth man, 19, cited for illegal consumption of alcohol after he was found sleeping in a vehicle parked downtown.

12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $24.71 from Holiday.

1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: State patrol notified of a hawk that had been hit on the highway near mile marker 96.

3:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that two people were arguing and walking away from a vehicle parked on County Road 7.

4:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that somebody was cutting trees on County Road 8, and a tree fell back on a power line. REA notified.

5:16 p.m., Lutsen: Cokato man, 35, cited for speeding.

Friday, Sept. 17

8:47 a.m., Schroeder: St. Louis man, 58, cited for speeding.

9:00 a.m., Schroeder: Vermont man, 52, cited for speeding.

11:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident on the highway near Holiday. 1:20 p.m., Schroeder: Deputies responded to a report of a white minivan in the ditch near Satellite’s, but the vehicle was gone.

1:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender in the parking lot at Johnson’s Foods.

2:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Assistance requested to remove a boat that was stuck on shore off Upper Road.

6:12 p.m., Grand Marais: The fire chief was called to investigate CO2 detectors that were going off at the folk school. Chief Ben deduced that the CO2 in the building was caused by acetylene tanks that had been used for jewelry making earlier, and advised them to contact Como, open the windows and not let anyone back inside.

6:15 p.m., Grand Portage: A Ramsey County man with two warrants was held by Customs after being stopped at the Port with 2.6 grams of marijuana.

8:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage man arrested for DWI after he was stopped trying to leave the Legion parking lot.

8:48 p.m., Grand Portage: Fireworks complaint.

11:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
