Monday, Aug. 9

12:58 a.m., Tofte: Deputies were called to an underage drinking party at West Highway 61, and an unknown number of kids ran. Four juveniles were cited.

1:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at a downtown business. Everything was found to be secure.

12:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A person who was struck by a car was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

1:52 p.m., Tofte: A deputy was called to speak with two kids who were hanging out at AmericInn and wouldn’t leave.

2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Edina man, 52, cited for speeding.

3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 44, cited for an equipment violation.

3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Schroeder man, 54, cited for no seat belt.

4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a man was beating his dog was unfounded.

5:49 p.m., Lutsen: Lutsen Fire Department was called to douse an unattended brush pile on fire on Ski Hill Road. There had been a burn permit issued.

7:53 p.m., Hovland: Burglary reported.

8:11 p.m., Grand Marais: A resident of Sawtooth Cabins was cited for public nuisance due to a complaint about his barking dogs.

8:41 p.m., Grand Portage: A Kent, Wash., man was arrested on a Washington State Department of Corrections warrant for escaping from Community Custody with the charge of robbery. Washington State will extradite him.

11:37 p.m., Schroeder: Deputies were called to a cabin where a 19-year-old girl just “flipped out,” took a knife and was threatening to hurt herself.

Tuesday, Aug. 10

7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: A bicycle was found and turned in.

7:45 a.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit $20 bill was received at the casino.

2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested for a hiker who injured her ankle on the Superior Hiking Trail.

4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a neighbor just drove by him and gave him the finger, then drove off toward town.

8:48 p.m., Grand Marais: A driver’s license and check card were found at the Rec Park.

Wednesday, Aug. 11

6:51 a.m., Grand Portage: Minneapolis woman, 53, cited for speeding.

10:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious phone calls reported.

11:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Mayer man, 37, cited for no proof of insurance.

11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Bicycle found at the Senior Center.

1:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Theside of a pop-up trailer was damaged by a grader blade while the vehicle pulling the camper attempted to pass.

7:11 p.m., Hovland: Thunder Bay man, 20, cited for speeding.

Thursday, Aug. 12

8:54 a.m., Grand Portage: A woman who fainted at the historic encampment was taken to the hospital.

9:57 a.m., Grand Portage: Driver reported that his back license plate was stolen and the front one is damaged.

10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to speak with an employee who was making terroristic threats.

2:53 p.m., Grand Marais: A purse was found at the Laundromat and turned in.

3:15 p.m., Tofte: Camper complained that her vehicle was scratched by a dog at Crescent Lake Campground.

3:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 21, arrested for probation violation after he was seen drinking.

6:43 p.m., Grand Marais: A woman was seen hitting a man in the arm and ripping his shirt off during a disagreement.

7:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Indianapolis man, 47, cited for speeding.

Friday, Aug. 13

12:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud neighbor complaint.

3:09 a.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about neighbor’s loud music and barking dogs.

7:25 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch across from Surfside Resort. Tow truck called.

8:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy checked on the condition of a dog that was chained to a car and looked abused. Theowner said it was a pound dog he was trying to bring back to health.

9:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the westbound lane of the highway facing east near Trailside.

Saturday, Aug. 14

12:01 a.m., Lutsen: Lutsen man, 23, arrested for interference with a 911 call, domestic assault and possession of marijuana after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend into a wall and threw a TV outside.

3:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Redby man, 21, arrested for possession of a controlled substance and no driver’s license.

3:23 a.m., Grand Portage: Woman reported that her son jumped out of a moving car and suffered head and facial injuries.

3:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller concerned that his friend may have carbon monoxide poisoning.

3:52 a.m., Lutsen: Report of gunshots. Investigation revealed it was somebody shooting clay pigeons.

5:17 p.m., Colvill: Deputies, Search & Rescue and Colvill responders located a lost girl, 14, who was separated from her family on the Kadunce hiking trail.

5:55 p.m., Lutsen: Property owner called to report that a man and two boys were trespassing on his beach. Theman said it was state land.

7:22 p.m., Lutsen: Complaint that someone on Evergreen Road was hitting golf balls toward cabins on Caribou Lake.

11:13 p.m., Lutsen: Eden Prairie woman, 44, cited for hit-and-run after she backed into a car with a bike rack, destroying a bike.

Sunday, Aug. 15

3:16 a.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported.

5:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Edmonton man, 46, arrested for DWI.

8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: $42 gas drive-off.

9:40 a.m., Tofte: $63.01 gas drive-off.

10:15 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a stolen wallet.

11:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Two occupants of the campground reported having coolers of food stolen from their sites overnight.

1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: A camera bag with lenses and a woman’s wallet was found in Harbor Park. Theowner was notified.

2:22 p.m., Tofte: $36.25 gas drive-off.

2:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Gem Lake man, 61, cited for speeding.

4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Wisconsin woman, 55, cited for speeding.
