Monday, July 19
9:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Wallet found and turned in.
11:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $52.15 from Buck’s. The driver was found at the Co-op and went back to pay the bill.
12:43 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle with Iowa plates pulling a small boat struck a parked vehicle in front of the liquor store and did not stop.
12:50 p.m., Tofte: Tofte and Schroeder units were paged to set up a landing zone at Satellite’s. Assistance was requested by Lake County after a 15-year-old boy fell on the Superior Hiking Trail and needed to be life-flighted out.
1:57 p.m., Grand Portage: California man cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.
6:02 p.m., Tofte: Minor vehicle accident in the Bluefin Bay parking lot. 6:51 p.m., Lutsen: Loud party complaint.
Tuesday, July 20
8:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of kids on skateboards playing chicken with cars on the highway near Lund’s Motel.
8:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of two canoes from a campsite, each valued at $2,500.
Wednesday, July 21
1:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A man was getting gas at Holiday and when he went inside to pay, another man began cursing at him.
4:49 p.m., Grand Marais: A suspicious package found at the point was determined to contain marine batteries and rocks.
6:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported being assaulted by his neighbor. Under investigation.
Thursday, July 22
12:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller complained that there are about 15-18 people at a home on North Broadway yelling and screaming. A deputy spoke with them, and the people said they would move inside.
11:40 a.m., Grand Marais: A trooper dispatched a coyote near Five Mile Rock that had been struck by a vehicle and suffered two broken back legs.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a man was sitting in a vehicle parked on Coast Guard Point, watching people with binoculars and making notes in a little book. He was gone when a deputy arrived,
2:37 p.m., Grand Marais: A hiker at Onion River said she heard whistling on the other side of the hill, and said whistle if you need help, and heard whistling again. She was concerned that there was someone in need of help.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was being harassed by a couple in town.
5:23 p.m., Grand Portage: Minor fender-bender in the Grand Portage State Park parking lot.
Friday, July 23
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found in the bushes outside the pharmacy. The owner was contacted.
1:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
2:48 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off of $52.29. The vehicle was located, and the occupants said there was a miscommunication, and called to pay with a credit card.
4:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Minneapolis man, 51, cited for a seat belt violation.
8:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
8:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed on Highway 61 near Cascade State Park.
Saturday, July 24
12:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Custer, Wis., man, 50, cited for no proof of insurance.
3:26 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy requested at Poplar River Condos where a group of four wouldn’t quiet down.
10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Winnetka, Ill., woman, 57, cited for speeding.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: A disturbance at Flour Lake Campground the previous night was reported. Some campers were asked to leave due to noise, foul language, drinking, squealing tires and speeding.
12:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller made a parking complaint at Coast Guard Point. She said she was blocked in when someone parked behind her, and there was already a car in front of her.
1:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing complaint on Greenwood Lake property.
6:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Sauk Rapids man, 30, cited for speeding and no proof of insurance.
6:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $23.58 from Holiday.
6:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern about two dogs left in a truck behind the Best Western. A deputy checked and found them to be in good condition.
7:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller concerned about the welfare of a dog that looked too skinny. A deputy was sent to check on it.
9:14 p.m., Grand Marais: St. Paul woman, 28, cited for speeding.
Sunday, July 25
9:58 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said someone had tampered with the door lock on his vehicle.
10:38 a.m., Tofte: Caller said she had $200 stolen from her motel room.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Forks, N.D., man, 20, cited for speeding.
7:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 24, cited for speeding. 7:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 63, cited for speeding. 7:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Rye, N.Y., woman, 52, cited for speeding. 8:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Andover man, 60, cited for speeding. 9:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Two Harbors man, 41, cited for speeding.
