Monday, July 12

12:04 a.m., Lutsen: Deputies responded to a verbal argument.

1:42 a.m., Lutsen: Report of an argument over soccer at a Caribou Trail residence. One of the people involved shot a gun into the air to scare the others. Thecaller then hung up.

10:27 a.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off of $27.27 from Holiday.

12:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Illinois woman cited for speeding.

5:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Wayzata woman, 57, cited for speeding and no proof of insurance.

9:07 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called for a man who drank a whole case of beer and took two or three valiums. He was conscious and breathing, but could not stand.

Tuesday, July 13

7:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage since 6 a.m. PUC notified.

11:55 a.m., Grand Marais: A dead deer washed up on the beach in the east bay. Game warden notified.

12:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was stuck on an old road leading back to the Kadunce River, and said he spun his tires so much that a fire started in the brush underneath the vehicle. The fire was put out before DNR firefighters could be contacted, but a tow truck was needed.

1:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Duluth man, 61, arrested for fourth-degree DWI and booked into jail.

4:28 p.m., Grand Portage: A deputy and Border Patrol were called to search for two 14-year-old girls who took a wrong trail near the High Falls and walked for an hour before turning back. They returned safely and the search was called off.

Wednesday, July 14

1:17 a.m., Grand Marais: A man wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt was sitting in the middle of the highway smoking a cigarette between Harbor Light and the Blue Moose.

1:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Man arrested for domestic assault.

1:41 p.m., Lutsen: Dog bite reported.

7:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Cloquet man cited for speeding.

7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a purplish vehicle with no license plates that just went through the stop sign at Beaver House.

9:12 p.m., Lutsen: Two injuries resulted from a motorcycle vs. deer accident at 4220 W. Highway 61.

Thursday, July 15

8:07 a.m., Tofte: Hibbing man, 46, cited for speeding.

10:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 30, cited for speeding.

12:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Indiana man cited for speeding.

1:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Indiana woman cited for speeding.

2:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a run-over mailbox.

2:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay woman, 46, cited for speeding.

3:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage at the end of the Trail.

5:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Two Canadians were stopped at the border with a hash pipe and small amount of marijuana.

6:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Michigan man, 42, cited for speeding.

6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: St. Paul man, 36, cited for speeding. 6:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Duluth man, 27, cited for no proof of insurance.

9:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Citation issued to a woman for possession of marijuana.

10:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Canadian woman cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

11:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint at Sawtooth Cabins.

Friday, July 16

12:38 a.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay woman cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

12:58 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to remove an intoxicated belligerent woman from her sister’s house.

4:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a man was lying half in the lane and half in the shoulder of County Road 7 across from the hospital.

7:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a smoky smell on Devil Track was a neighbor’s campfire.

9:06 a.m., Lutsen: Motor vehicle accident with no injuries on the highway at Rollins Creek Road. Two cars sideswiped each other.

9:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that the Country Hearth bread man was swerving all over the highway.

11:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Oakdale man, 50, cited for no seat belt.

12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: St. Paul man, 28, cited for speeding.

1:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman reported that a man walked by her window, she verbally confronted him and an hour later he was back walking by the window with a friend. A deputy spoke with the men.

1:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Pine Springs man, 23, cited for speeding.

1:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 34, cited for speed.

2:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Plymouth man, 31, cited for speeding. 11:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to investigate screaming sounds. The caller said it sounded like a young person, but wasn’t sure if something was wrong or if kids were just goofing around.

11:59 p.m., Lutsen: Man arrested for DWI and fleeing on foot after running from a traffic stop at Cascade.

Saturday, July 17

1:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about loud noise, possibly a fight, coming from Birch Terrace’s parking lot.

9:27 a.m., Grand Marais: A man seen walking around The Garage drinking a 24-ounce can of beer said he was unaware that he could not walk around Grand Marais drinking from an open can of beer.

10:08 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy stopped a driver who left SA without paying for $62.50 worth of gas, and made arrangements to pay.

12:56 p.m., Grand Marais: A hiker on Northern Light Lake Trail suffered a broken ankle and was transported to the hospital.

3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off from SA of $48.82. The vehicle wasn’t found.

4:00 p.m., Colvill: Man arrested for seconddegree assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless driving after his girlfriend called 911 and said he struck her in the head.

6:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost green life jacket.

9:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost boat propeller somewhere between Grand Marais and Pike Lake.

Sunday, July 18

6:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested regarding a domestic incident.

9:22 p.m., Lutsen: Dellwood man, 43, arrested for DUI.

10:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman arrested for domestic assault after she attacked her husband and 14-year-old son.
