Monday, June 28

10:21 a.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $37.18 reported from Ryden’s. A deputy stopped the vehicle and escorted it back to the store, where the bill was paid. The driver said there was a miscommunication as to who was supposed to pay.

11:45 a.m., Grand Marais: South Dakota woman, 58, cited for speeding and no proof of insurance.

1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Little Canada woman, 50, cited for speeding.

1:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Eden Prairie man, 21, cited for speeding.

8:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious, extremely intoxicated man headed down Eighth Avenue West. 8:28 p.m., Grand Marais: An anonymous caller who sounded intoxicated and then became uncooperative reported that someone was throwing rocks at an endangered species on Artist Point. When asked for a better location, he became uncooperative and wanted to talk to someone who knew the area, and then said he’d just handle it himself and hung up.

8:33 p.m., Grand Portage: Male juvenile, 17, charged with criminal damage to property, second- and fifth-degree assault, and minor consumption of alcohol.

Tuesday, June 29
8:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.

12:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his neighbor’s dog was loose and trying to bite him while he was mowing the grass.

3:00 p.m., Grand Portage: An adult male inmate was held for the night for Border Patrol.

3:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Bloomington man, 49, cited for speeding. 6:54 p.m., Grand Portage: Ontario man, 35, cited for speeding.

8:48 p.m., Grand Portage: A man at the casino who was intoxicated and wouldn’t leave the premises was taken to detox.

8:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that the DNR tree planters rolled their van about a quarter-mile south of Junco Creek on the Ball Club Road. There was no one around and the van was off the road and upright.

9:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Canadian man, 39, arrested for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.
