Monday, May 17

8:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 54, cited for speeding.

9:37 a.m., Grand Marais: The driver of a vehicle that was seen driving erratically was stopped and spoken to by a deputy.

10:14 a.m., Lutsen: Caller reported someone came into his cabin and stole a twin bed frame, mattress and box spring. However, the bedding was left there.

11:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Man arrested for domestic assault.

Tuesday, May 18

12:14 p.m., Tofte: Ambulance called to 6892 W. Highway 61 after a man found his wife unconscious down by the rocks. She was deceased.

2:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy unable to locate a vehicle that was seen driving erratically on Third Avenue East. The caller said the driver made a U-turn right in front of him, nearly causing an accident, and he believes the driver may have been high.

Wednesday, May 19
12:21 a.m., Grand Portage: Loud party complaint.

4:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at Holiday was set off by an employee.

8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a mangy wolf on Ski Hill Road.

10:23 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called for a 60-yearold woman who fell about 5 feet into a drained pool.

3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Rescue units sent to help a woman, 67, who was experiencing an irregular heart beat on the Cascade hiking trail. She was found about one mile from the campground and brought to the ambulance by ATV.

7:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage man, 63, cited for drug possession.

Thursday, May 20

11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that the stop sign at the bottom of Ski Hill Road has stickers all over it and needs to be replaced.

1:23 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a possibly drunk driver at the bridge.

2:00 p.m., Schroeder: Fire department assistance requested to set up a landing zone at Satellite’s Country Inn for the Lifelink helicopter. The medical emergency was in Lake County.

3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus driver reported a stop arm violation.

11:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.

Friday, May 21

1:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a man named Scott was being violent and trying to pick a fight with people at the Birch Terrace.

1:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Silver Bay man, 22, arrested for DWI, hit and run and criminal damage to property. He was seen leaving Birch Terrace, hit a parked vehicle, went into the McArthur House B&B yard and got stuck in the garden, backed out and continued up Sixth Avenue dragging vehicle parts. 10:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lot of crushed gravel on County Road 7 near County Road 6, possibly dropped by a dump truck. Highway Department notified.

11:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarm at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.

1:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of two rings from 8 Broadway, valued at about $20 apiece.

1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit and run at the East Bay Suites.

8:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Garrison man, 31, cited for no driver’s license after he was seen driving with what appeared to be a can of beer.

8:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious person hiding in the woods at Pancore Road and Erickson Trail.

Saturday, May 22

2:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Minneapolis man, 23, arrested for DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign.

3:16 a.m., Grand Marais: A van pulling a boat struck a deer and was disabled. The six fishermen who were heading to Canada stayed at a local motel.

10:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a cooler containing about $20 worth of beverages.

10:46 a.m., Grand Marais: A weed trimmer was found near the USFS building.

12:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested for a man who fell on the point near the lighthouse.

1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Stillwater woman, 46, arrested for DWI.

3:00 p.m., Lutsen: Report that someone took the Lutsen sign off the highway and put it in the bushes near the Lutheran church.

5:29 p.m., Hovland: Report that a 13-year-old girl was in an ATV accident with a tree.

7:58 p.m., Lutsen: Report of possibly drunk guys trying to load up their boats at the Holly Lake landing. They lost their outboard motor in the water, recovered it and now have the boat sideways on the trailer. Theyfinally got two boats on the trailer — one upside-down on the other.

10:18 p.m., Lutsen: Caller reported that his sister just left the Caribou Lake area driving, and she is intoxicated.

Sunday, May 23

2:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to escort a bunch of loud kids home who were out on the street at First Street and Tenth Avenue West. They were gone when the deputy arrived.

9:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she had a wedding reception at her home the previous night, and someone stole the keg, tap and a blender from her home. Someone also burned her kids’ toys in the front yard.

12:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about kids driving ATVs and motorbikes on County Road 60 and Wahlstrom Road.

7:26 p.m., Grand Marais: An 18-year-old Grand Marais woman and two male juveniles, 17, were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarms going off at the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.
