Friday, Jan. 10
10:42 a.m. West Highway 61:
Plow truck stuck on south side
of highway. Assistance arrived.
12:40 p.m. Grand Marais:
Animal disturbance on Second
Avenue West. Caller believes
the neighbor’s dog jumped up
on their vehicle and has also
caused other property damage.
Caller is very upset that people
let their dogs run loose because
dogs dig in gardens and poop
everywhere. People should not
have to deal with this trouble
and mess.
2:48 p.m. Grand Marais:
Medical assistance requested
at store on East Highway 61.
Eighty-five year old woman fell
and experienced pain in her hip
and leg. Transported to North
Shore Health.
3:25 p.m. Grand Marais:
Motor vehicle accident with
minor property damage on
West Fifth Street. Caller said
a “fender bender” occurred in
the parking lot at the school. A
truck with a snowmobile loaded
in the back ended up hitting her
vehicle on the back passenger
door scratching it up and
removing a handle. Insurance
information was exchanged.
6:15 p.m. Grand Marais: West
Fifth Street, possible gas leak
reported in the Culinary Arts

area at the school. Observed
minimal smell and discovered
that a few pilot lights were out.
8:14 p.m. Grand Marais: Drug
incident on Sixth Avenue
West. Caller says girlfriend is
smoking pot and he isn’t okay
with it. Domestic disturbance
was settled.
Saturday, Jan. 11
8:17 a.m. Grand Marais: West
Highway 61, property lost/
found. Wallet was lost and
unauthorized transactions
had occurred on a credit card.
Wallet eventually found in a
snow bank in front of local bar,
all items were accounted for
except for the extra credit card
charges.
11:03 a.m. Grand Marais:
Public assistance for neighbor
on Third Ave West. Caller can
see that a box was delivered to
a vacant house and would like
to have the package transported
to the Law Enforcement Center.
Phone number on package label
was called and message was left
concerning new location of the
package.
11:14 a.m. Ball Club Road:
Medical assist requested. Fiftyfive year old female fell off
snowmobile, experienced back
and rib pain. Transported to
North Shore Health.

11:35 a.m. Gunflint Trail: Public
assistance. St. Louis County
caller needed to contact state
patrol dispatch. They had taken
a dead deer off the roadway for
meat and were looking for a
deer kill permit.
12:08 p.m. Lutsen: Theft
occurred on Ski Hill Road.
Caller reported purse was
stolen. No suspects.
2:16 p.m. Lutsen: Medical
assistance requested. Fifty year
old male suffered hip injury.
Transported to North Shore
Health.
Sunday, Jan. 12.
3:55 p.m. Alfred Creek Road:
Motor vehicle property damage.
White Ford Escape in the ditch,
no injuries reported. Vehicle
tipped, but did not roll. Vehicle
may have been passing another
vehicle or driving too fast for
conditions. Towing service
contacted.
Monday, Jan. 13.
7:36 a.m. Police transported
two people from Lake County
jail to Cook County jail to
prepare for court appearances.
9:55 a.m. Grand Marais:
Welfare check on West Fifth
Street. A high school senior
left campus and parents were
concerned. Student was found
safe and sound at home.
