Monday, May 3
6:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured on West County Road 7.
6:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Motorist went into the ditch about 10 miles south of town off Highway 61, and was stuck in the mud. Tow truck called.
6:54 p.m., Tofte: Theft of gasoline from a truck reported. The owner said almost a full tank was siphoned out.
9:08 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to the border to cite a female Canadian who was carrying 1.3 grams of marijuana.
Tuesday, May 4
2:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Internet fraud report.
3:39 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus stop arm violation at Gunflint Trail and Devil Track Road.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
6:20 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that a neighbor’s dog attacked the caller’s niece after the neighbor told the dog to do it. Thedog tore through the girl’s pants, but did not pierce the skin. No medical attention was required.
6:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to speak with two Canadians who came through Customs with an open bottle of alcohol.
6:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet report.
Wednesday, May 5
11:15 a.m., Lutsen: Barking dog complaint.
1:48 p.m., Tofte: Belly dump went into the ditch across from Chateau Leveaux.
Thursday, May 6
4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Man arrested for underage drinking, tampering with a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct after he was seen coming out of the pharmacy and trying to get into a vehicle that did not belong to him.
Friday, May 7
1:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage woman, 46, arrested for DUI. 5/16/2010
Saturday, May 8
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a fire on the stove. She covered it with a lid, but wasn’t sure if it was out. A deputy determined the fire was out, and the fire department, First Responders and ambulance were cancelled.
8:52 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was walking on the Gunflint Trail, creating a traffic hazard. The owner was called.
10:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke around Fourth Street and Second Avenue East. A deputy investigated, but found no smoke.
10:55 p.m., Grand Portage: Family argument.
Sunday, May 9
2:42 p.m., Lutsen: Firefighters called to a grass fire on a Caribou Trail driveway. A small motorcycle burned, but firefighters put the fire out before it reached a nearby building.
3:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 44, cited for speeding.
4:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Car taken from the casino parking lot without consent of the owner.
5:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Van in the ditch near the intersection of Clearwater Road and West Bearskin Road. No injuries reported.
7:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Smoke reported from the high school was coming from a wood boiler.
