Tuesday, Dec. 17
7:46 a.m., Tofte: Motorist reported a dead wolf in the northbound
lane of the highway near Aspenwood Drive. State Patrol
responded and determined that the animal was a coyote in rough
shape. The body was removed from the roadway.
10:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Automatic fire alarm on West Fifth
Street was cancelled.
11:58 a.m., Grand Marais: A postal worker hit a deer on West
Highway 61. The driver was okay, but the deer needed to be
dispatched.
1:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on Gunflint Trail. The caller
needed assistance on how to block something on Twitter that
concerned her.
2:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Neighbor trouble on First Avenue East.
9:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity at Grandma Ray’s.
Caller said a man left a wooden box at the bar and said, “Here.
This is for you.” The box contained a large knife.
9:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Call received regarding a possibly
intoxicated man who has been in and out of Holiday since 5 p.m.,
and was now out lying by the Dumpster and acting goofy, but not
causing trouble. A deputy checked, and the man was taken to the
ER.
Wednesday, Dec. 18
9:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Welfare check requested on Eighth
Avenue West.
11:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle lock out on West Second Street
was cancelled after the caller was able to de-ice the door and get
it open.
2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another agency on
Gunflint Trail.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported on Gunflint Trail.
7:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (possible stroke) on First
Avenue East.
Thursday, Dec. 19
7:53 a.m., Grand Portage: Medical call (back pain) on Bay Estates
Drive.
8:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted Public Health on
County Road 7.
8:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported on First Avenue
East.
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on West Highway 61. A
motorist was given a ride back to town to get her spare key, after
she had locked the key inside the vehicle.
12:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Automatic fire alarm on West Fifth
Street was cleared.
4:34 p.m., Grand Marais: A shiny gold wallet was reported lost
somewhere in town.
8:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious activity on Gunflint
Trail was actually in reference to something (theft) that took place
in Virginia, Minn.
9:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off West Highway 61
was pulled out by a personal vehicle.
